Phil & Christiana Brande
The most important news that we want to share relates to our plans for the year ahead. Given the current state of our support, and the ongoing health issues we have had over the past two years, we were strongly encouraged to take a furlough/home assignment at the end of our current term. When the school year in Prague ends June 9, we will begin preparations for a year in the US.
We want to avoid any confusion by clearly stating that we are not “quitting missions”, “leaving the field” or “moving home.” We’re taking a year’s assignment in our passport country in order to recoup, reconnect, and find renewal for our return to Prague. We will need your prayers & support just as much over the next 14 months as we do now.
We will leave here June 26, landing in Florida June 27. At the end of July, we will settle in Jefferson City, Missouri. We are incredibly thankful to have been granted a “mission house” from one of our sending churches. Our year in the US will consist of support raising, seeking answers to the physical health issues we have been dealing with, completing some professional development courses, and hopefully finding some rest.
During our furlough, Phil will be working on his ELL (English Language Learning) teacher certification. Our plans are that when we return to Prague, his focus will be working in the ELL department at CISP, rather than teaching middle school English.
Thank you, as always, for being a part of what God is doing at CISP and in the city of Prague.
